'Spider-Man: Homecoming' release date and set updates: Set photos see Spidey in the sky with mysterious redhead
Superhero fans rejoiced when Sony was able to broker a deal with Marvel Studios to include Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Spider-man: Homecoming" is currently filming and new set photos have surfaced of Spider-Man saving a redheaded woman.
The photos from JustJared.com showed two Spidey stunt doubles holding an unknown woman as they hung from a helicopter. Speculations said that the woman could very well be Spider-Man's love interest, Mary Jane Watson. However, seeing as Zendaya had been cast for the role, it could very much be a random civilian.
The woman in the picture was also seen holding a phone and supposedly taking a selfie with Spider-man. With selfies being so prevalent among millennials, the audiences can expect this to occur in a movie about high school students. Even the "Ghostbusters" reboot had people taking selfies in it.
A video of the very same stunt also leaked from Twitter user abouttomholland. The pictures also had the stunt doubles hanging from the helicopter but it looked like they were actively swinging themselves on set. It could be that they were shooting a scene where Spider-Man literally hangs on to a helicopter or the scene could have Spidey swinging from building to building.
A lot of fans are excited to see more of Tom Holland as Spider-Man because his version of the wall-crawler is said to be the one closest to the comic book character. With Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions officially retiring themselves from the big screen, a new generation has a new Peter Parker to look forward in the form of Holland.
"Spider-man: Homecoming" is set to release in theaters July next year.
