The "Skyrim Special Edition" has officially gone gold, which means it is ready to hit the shelves. Bethesda Game Studios took to Twitter to celebrate the milestone.

"Pass the Mead... Skyrim Special Edition has Gone Gold!" the studio tweeted out along with a photo featuring physical copies of the remastered game.

"In true Elder Scrolls fashion, we celebrated with mead brewed by our very own Bethesda Game Studios developers with the same attention to detail that was put into the game itself," Bethesda wrote on its blog.

"All the memories—fan tributes, Mods, personal stories and even that phenomenon of taking an arrow to the knee—feel fresh again," the developer added.

Among the improvements to expect in the "Skyrim Special Edition" are first and foremost the mods both coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The graphics are remastered to look much better and richer. The volumetric lighting ("God Rays"), dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, new snow and water shaders were all overhauled as well.

Bethesda has also announced the system requirements for "Skyrim Special Edition" so players can prepare their gear for a seamless experience.

For the personal computer (PC), Windows 7 and over should be the operating system. A total of 8 GB RAM will do as well as 12 GB free storage space.

The minimum requirement for the graphics card is a 1 GB NVIDIA GTX 470 or a 2 GB AMD HD 7870 although Bethesda recommends players to use 3 GB NVIDIA GTX 780 or 4 GB AMD R9 290 for "Skyrim Special Edition."

Players could do with an Intel i5-750 or AMD Phenom II X4-945 as the processor although it would be preferable to use the Intel i5-2400 or the AMD FX-8320.

For the consoles, PS4 players in North America should set aside 20 GB of space while those in Europe will need 33 GB to install and play "Skyrim Special Edition" seamlessly.

On the Xbox One side of things, those in North America will need 17 GB while the game will require 25 GB for players located in Europe.

"Skyrim Special Edition" will be released Oct. 28 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
