'Sister Wives' season 8 news 2016: Wives rebelling against Kody? Is the Brown patriarch unwell?
There are rumors that the sister wives are finally rebelling against the patriarch of the Brown family, as Kody starts to feel the consequences of his actions.
The seventh season of TLC's "Sister Wives," ended in June. Since then, there hasn't been any news of its return to the small screens for its eighth season, much less its renewal. Talks were even rife that the reality show featuring the odd setup of a polygamous family would be altogether canceled.
Apparently, Kody's decision to add two new wives to his growing family (one legal wife, three other partners, and 18 children in all) is making TLC think twice about renewing the said show. A friend of the Browns', Kendra Pollard, revealed that Kody was planning to wed two more women: a family friend, and Robyn's (Kody's legal wife) step-niece.
According to reports, majority of the show's viewers might not tolerate the addition of more wives. Moreover, TLC could come under fire if they acquiesce with Kody's decision. The network has been mum about the issue, so the fate of the reality show still hangs in the balance.
Parent Herald reported that there are rumors surrounding Kody's failing health, which could purportedly affect the overall direction and storyline of "Sister Wives" season 8. In addition, there are talks suggesting that the sister wives have banded together and decided to rebel against Kody.
It remains to be seen if there is truth to the rumors. As mentioned previously, TLC is keeping a tight lid on the reality show's future, and some are assuming that the network's non-committal stance has something to do with FOX 13's recent report that there are plans to render a polygamy petition to the U.S. Supreme Court. Should that happen, the fate of "Sister Wives" season 8 could be severely affected.
As of the moment, no information has been released regarding the show's renewal and subsequent release date.
