Samsung Galaxy S8 specs rumors: Phone said to be powerful enough to support VR
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is getting hyped up to be one of the most powerful handheld devices coming out in the market. News has been surfacing that the phone will run on an Exynos 8895 processor, and the phone will also be powerful enough to support virtual reality (VR) technology.
According to Christian Today, the announcement of the Galaxy S8 is still months away, but upon its release, users will get their hands on the first ever VR ready handheld device. The phone will boast a 4K resolution display with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and an 806bppi pixel density; all this running on an Exynos 8895 processor.
The Exynos processor will reportedly have a working frequency of 4GHz which surpasses the maximum clock speed of Apple's A10 processor (Apple is also said to make use of the Snapdragon 830 chipset). The current Galaxy S7 runs on the Exynos 8890 chip, but with the 8995, speculations point out that it would make the S8 30 percent more powerful than the S7.
There are also rumors suggesting that the S8 will be ditching the regular flat screen design for a curved screen display. The S8 is said to be the only phone that will ever have that display, and it looks like Samsung plans in making the curved look the basic design for any upcoming future devices. Samsung Mobile president Koh Dong-jin says, "Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions (for the curved screen)."
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also said to run on the latest version of the Android OS, the Android Nougat, and some guess that it will be one of the first devices to run on that OS.
Speculations suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come out early next year.
