More recent reports suggest that the next Samsung flagship will sport 6 GB random-access memory (RAM) and 256 internal memory storage.

The report on the RAM and internal memory capacity of Samsung Galaxy S8 came from the Dutch online news source, Tech Tastic. In separate occasions, Samsung has discreetly confirmed that Galaxy S8 is in the pipeline. But further official details, especially about its specifications, remain unavailable.

Sam Mobile noted that the internal 256 GB memory storage is a major change of plans for Samsung. It can be recalled that Samsung went for an internal 32 GB memory coupled with a microSD card slot for an expandable memory.

The microSD card slot is a welcome comeback in Galaxy S7 after the South Korean electronics company received overwhelming negative reactions when they removed in Galaxy S6.

Tech Tastic also reported that Samsung Galaxy S8's processing chip will vary depending on the region the phone will be bought. Some areas will get a Galaxy S8 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC) while others will get a mobile device powered by Samsung's very own Exynox 9 series chip. Both chips are expected to run at 3-gigahertz (GHz) clock speed.

There have been other reports that claim Samsung will sport an 8 GB RAM, which is also not impossible since Samsung introduced the tech industry's first-ever 8 GB low power double data rate type 4 (LPDDR4) mobile dynamic RAM (DRAM) just last month.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to sport a dual-lens camera on the rear. It is also expected to ship with a security feature familiar to Galaxy Note 7 users — the iris scanner. Other reports suggest that Samsung will ditch its signature home button in Galaxy S8 while offering the device for up to $850.

It is speculated that Samsung Galaxy S8 will be officially announced within the first half of 2017.
