The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be the saving grace of the company following the disastrous launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which is why the flagship will reuse the phablet's technology.

According to a report by Korea Herald, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature an iris scanner, a feature that debuted in the Galaxy Note 7.

Due to the problematic battery of the now doomed phablet, users did not fully experience the innovative features of the Note device.

That includes the iris-scanning technology, which increases the level of security of the device. The South Korea-based tech firm is making sure users will be able to utilize it in the Samsung Galaxy S8.

However, the addition of the iris scanner was not really much of a surprise. Forbes says that it was planned to be in the flagship all along seeing that the Note 7 had it.

Besides, it is expected to be the direction the mobile world is going as far as biometric smartphone security is concerned.

Needless to say, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will also get fresh upgrades. It is rumored to get a dual camera setup, which is easily becoming the new norm in premium flagships.

Apart from serving as an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S8, the dual-camera setup is also expected to help module makers and suppliers enjoy an increase in revenue.

As users would expect from Samsung, the camera department is getting a bit of a twist. A representative of one of Samsung's component suppliers revealed this bit of exciting information during the interview with Korea Herald.

"Samsung never uses the same camera for its flagship models, upgrading the camera of its flagship device every year, so there surely will be an improvement (for the S8 camera)," the official said.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is currently in development and is being fast-tracked due to the Note 7 fiasco. Samsung is not taking any chances on this as the smartphone is the only way they have to restore their reputation.

This led the company to make sure its employees do not comment about the device as the team focuses on building the smartphone that could make or break the tech giant.
