There may still be full year before Samsung unveils its next Galaxy Note model, but rumors are already circulating about the possible cancellation of the controversial phablet line. Will the South Korean tech company be able to rise from the ashes of the Galaxy Note 7 debacle or has it lost its customer's trust for good?

Following the worldwide recall and eventual termination in the production of the Galaxy Note 7 due to battery explosion issues, claims about Samsung's alleged plans to discontinue the production of the Galaxy Note series may seem feasible.

However, other speculations stated that since Samsung has not made any confirmation about this matter, it may still be possible for the tech company to consider rebranding the product line instead to rid it of any connection to the Galaxy Note 7's massively bad press.

Despite these rumors, speculations are already being made about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's possible release date. Since the South Korean tech company has been announcing updates on its Galaxy Note series in time for a September unveiling at the annual IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) tradeshow in Berlin, Germany, the rumored Galaxy Note 8 should be released around the same time next year.

Latest speculations about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features state that it may come with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD or 4K Super AMOLED display and USB-C support. It will likely be waterproof with dual cameras and a high-capacity battery with fast wireless charging capabilities. The rumored next-gen phablet may run on Android 7.0 Nougat. Staple Samsung sensors like the heart-rate, fingerprint and iris scanners should also be present as well, with possible capability upgrades.

On the other hand, Tech Times reported that Samsung may be considering discounted offers on the next Galaxy Note releases in an effort to make up for the huge disappointment of the Galaxy Note 7.
