The Samsung Galaxy Note line may have had the worst year yet, but next year is already promising to be a better one with reports of Samsung grooming a successor especially designed to pick up after the Note 7 debacle.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been rumored for release next year with upgraded features and additional capabilities all aimed at winning back consumer trust. But while there are already more than a handful of wishlists and speculations about the Note 8, no confirmed details about it have been made.

Some analysts have been suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might come with a 4K resolution technology, which would make it the perfect device for streaming videos and playing mobile games.

This could also significantly improve the quality of photos the phablet can produce. There have also been speculations that the South Korean tech company has been looking to up the quality of the Note 8 cameras with an alleged patent application for a new user interface. Samsung seems to be looking for new and exciting ways to facilitate better camera controls and optical zoom features.

Consumers are hoping the upcoming next-generation high-end phablet would be equipped with dual cameras for a better low-light shooting performance. Higher quality photos should rightfully be complemented with a bigger storage space, one that would hopefully match up to the iPhone's sizeable storage which has now reached a whooping 256 GB on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Despite its exploding batteries, the disgraced Note 7 did also have a handful of useful features that consumers hope would carry over to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The next-gen phablet is expected to feature the S Pen stylus an iris scanner, and waterproof capabilities.

Based on previous release habits, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 8 anytime between August or September next year.
