With the NBA season just around the corner, trade rumors are still circulating and this time it's about two point guards from the Western Conference.

According to Latin Post, there is a talk happening between the Sacramento Kings and the Minnesota Timberwolves that could possibly send Ricky Rubio to Sacramento, while Lawson will end up in Minnesota.

Both players have been in trade talks a lot recently. Lawson has been moving around and he has been with three teams since arriving in the 2009-10 season. He started his career with the Denver Nuggets and he looked promising as he averaged 14.2 points per game while with the Nuggets.

In the middle of the 2015-16 campaign, he was sent over to the Houston Rockets where he played only a total of 53 regular season games and clearly struggled to make an impact. His production dropped to 5.8 points per game and only averaging 22 minutes per night.

Then he was later on sent to the Indiana Pacers to play 13 games and his output dipped lower as he only averaged 4.9 points per game and 18 minutes of playing time a night.

Now with the Kings, he was expected to make more impact but it seems that his off-court issues may have cost him his slot in the roster.

According to reports, Lawson missed out on a flight during the pre-season due to excessive partying the night before. This rubbed management the wrong way which has made them agree to possibly ship Lawson out immediately.

It looks like this may happen with the Wolves and Rubio.

Just like Lawson, Rubio has always been linked to a move away. The only difference is that it has yet to happen.

Rubio is a solid player and definitely one of the better playmakers in the league. Unfortunately, his lack of weapons on the scoring end makes him limited and the Wolves may opt to get someone who can score more along with the young core.

Heading into the season, Rubio averages only 10.1 points per game but gets 8.3 assists per night. Many believe that this may be the ceiling for Rubio so the Wolves may want to look elsewhere for help.

This trade may not happen immediately. The middle of the season may promise better timing for the two.
