Sacramento Kings trade rumors 2016: DeMarcus Cousins' love for the Lakers could leave Kings out in the cold
DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings may be wanting to move to another city close by as he revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers is his favourite team in the NBA.
Considered as one of the best big men in the league, Cousins has constantly been linked with a move away from the Kings as the franchise has failed to rebuild the team and make them a conference contender.
And with this new revelation, there are rumors that it may also be a subliminal hint that he wants to move to Hollywood.
During a Q & A with fans, one supporter asked Cousins who his favourite team is, with "Boogie" promptly replying the Purple and Gold of the Lakers.
As a result, Sports Rageous reported this as a subtle demand that he is ready to play for the Lakers. It is also perfect timing as the franchise is in the midst of a rebuild and is looking for a marquee player who can fill the void Kobe Bryant left when he retired.
Cousins is heavily considered the best center in the league today, despite only being 6-11 in height, Cousins towers over his rivals with excellent movement and use of his large frame.
Picked fifth overall in the 2010 draft, Cousins has played six years in the league so far, putting up impressive numbers as he scores 20.2 points and grabs 10.8 rebounds per game.
He is also relatively reliable in the free throw area as he shoots 73 percent in his career.
Cousins has also been picked as an All-Star in his last two seasons in the league but has yet to taste playoff basketball since entering the league at 20 years old.
Outside of the Lakers, there are other teams being linked with a move for Cousins, with the Boston Celtics as one of the other big teams looking to snag the All-Star.
