Singer Rita Ora opened up about ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, her music and having a positive body image during an interview with Cosmopolitan.

Ora, 23, appears on the cover of Cosmopolitan's December 2014 issue.

"It was the right guy at the wrong time," Ora said of Harris. "I was about to start a tour and he was also all over the place. There's only so much you can do when you don't see each other. I really admire people who have long-distance relationships. It's an incredible achievement. I couldn't do it."

Harris and Ora started dating in May 2013. Harris confirmed their break-up through a tweet posted in June 2014. "To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago," Harris wrote. "She is a beautiful, talented woman and I wish her all the best."

"It was Calvin's decision to end the relationship," an insider revealed to British newspaper The Sun. The insider also said that "Rita was left embarrassed when he tweeted that it was all over. She didn't think he was going to make the announcement, so she was shocked."

"Calvin likes more privacy than Rita and he hated the extra attention that came with being her boyfriend," the insider tol The Sun.

Ora is now dating rapper Ricky Hil, son of designer Tommy Hilfiger.

During the Cosmopolitan interview, Ora also talked about working with rapper Iggy Azalea on her new song "Black Widow."

"As soon as I heard it, I was like, 'This is the f*cking song'," she said. "Katy Perry co-wrote it – it felt nice to have all women involved."

Ora also shared her thoughts on sex, saying that "I'm very proud to say that I think about sex."

"For me, sex is a form of getting to know a person – feeling someone's skin," she said. She also shared advice on having a positive body image and how one can come to terms with loving their body.

"Stand in front of the mirror and say, 'I'm f*cking sexy'. That's where it starts."
