'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date and updates: Fan re-animates the court room scene from SDCC
This year's San Diego Comic-Con in July had the "Rick and Morty" team screening a reenactment of a ridiculous court transcript of "The State of Georgia vs. Denver Fenton Allen."
The voices were all done by the show's co-creator, Justin Roiland. He had Morty play the judge and Rick play the defendant Allen. The clip was a success at the SDCC, and a fan has taken the time to animate the entire sequence.
Youtube user tiarawhy posted the video "Judge Morty: State of Georgia Vs. Rick Allen" and his team fully colored and animated the clip from Comic-Con.
The original footage screened at the SDCC was only in black and white and had a series of still pictures of the characters, but the animated sequence makes the entire clip seem like something out of an actual "Rick and Morty" episode.
To those unfamiliar with the transcript, it showcased a ridiculous dialogue between the judge of the case and the defendant, Rick Allen. From the get-go, Allen had been uncooperative with the investigation while saying rude things to the presiding judge. On the other hand, the judge, J. Bryant Durnham, had also been incredibly aggravated. Thus, he also started spouting ridiculous things in the transcript. The entire exchange was full of stutters and wild claims reminiscent of a "Rick and Morty" episode.
For the third season of "Rick and Morty," initial plans had the series slated for release in March 2017 but reports have been saying that the team plans to air the season before the year ends.
The season will see Rick trying to escape the intergalactic prison he was kept in at the end of season 2. Other rumors suggest that the third season may feature an appearance from his wife. The season is also said to delve more into the marriage of Beth and Jerry. Vin Diesel is rumored to be a guest voice.
