'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date news update: Will season 3 come this December?
Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty" has grown to be one of the most popular shows to come out in recent years. The sci-fi comedy is waiting for its third season, and it's quite possible that it will be airing before 2016 ends.
In an interview on the "Chicks Who Script" podcast, writers Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener said the release of season 3 in December is "imminent." They also touched on the arduous process they had to undergo in developing a script for the show.
Fans can notice that "Rick and Morty" has dialogue that is reliant on improvisation. Hence, the characters are always stuttering and talking about random subjects out of the blue.
This process is highly unlikely for an animated production, as it would be difficult for the animators to follow all of the improvised dialogue, but it has steadily become the show's trademark.
Though they are sure that the show will be coming out soon, they have not specified when exactly. They have sent the scripts over to Bardel Entertainment in Vancouver for animation, but they are unsure just exactly when the season will be completed. Rosbe did note, however, that the studio will hold a screening in a couple of weeks.
As for the plot of the upcoming season, reports said that Dan Harmon, co-creator of "Rick and Morty," has decided to veer away from an interdimensional cable episode. Both seasons one and two had one, but Harmon felt that having a third episode would bore viewers already.
The interdimensional cable episodes always seem to be a way for the show to include loads of improvised dialogue because the topics could be limitless. Though fans love the concept, they could very well be sick of it the third time around.
"Rick and Morty" season 3 is expected to air this coming December.
