'Rick and Morty' season 3 premiere: no official announcement yet; creators careful not to have a bad episode
As the wait for the announcement of the "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere date continues, more speculations about the Adult Swim hit emerge.
For starters, there is a new rumor going around that Rick and Morty will be back with brand-new adventures this March. There is no concrete information to corroborate that though.
Show creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon set out to have "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere last year. This obviously did not come to pass, leading fans to wonder when the show will find its way to the small screen.
Roiland has addressed questions about the premiere date by shooting the questions back. In his latest tweet regarding "Rick and Morty" season 3, he said, "Where the hell is season three?"
Back in December, he also acknowledged the lack of release date for the new season. "Nobody ever asks me when season three is coming. I've never been asked even once. I guess everybody is just patiently waiting?"
At the moment, neither creators nor Adult Swim is yet to make an official announcement of the premiere of "Rick and Morty" season 3.
A preview for the season has been released. However, the animation, at least based on the clip, is still in early stages. Whether or not this represents the status of the new season itself remains to be seen.
It will, either way, take a longer time for the Roiland and Harmon team to put together "Rick and Morty" season 3 as there will be 14 episodes in the new season instead of the usual 11.
The duo has also emphasized that they are perfectionists, which means that they will want to make every bit of the season just right before they release it.
"We don't want to have a bad episode that's universally considered oh, that's Rick and Morty's — that may arguably exist already but I dunno," Roiland said in an interview with Shockya.com.
Harmon added that with the high expectations for "Rick and Morty" season 3, they just cannot rest on their laurels.
