'Rick and Morty' season 3 premiere date, spoilers: Work on new season complete; show in final step of post-production process
It turns out that work on "Rick and Morty" season 3 is complete, but Adult Swim is not ready to designate a premiere date for it just yet.
Erica Rosbe, one of the new writers for "Rick and Morty," has provided an update on the upcoming coming during an interview with Cinema Blend.
"We ended four weeks ago, I think. I think they're done soon, they're done really soon. I think in a week or two they're going to have screenings in the production office," she revealed.
Rosbe, together with her fellow newcomer Sarah Carbiener, also revealed in an episode of the "Chicks Who Script" podcast that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will make it this year.
Show creator Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon gave their word that fans will get to watch new adventures of the animated series as early as this year and it appears that they are on track in making that happen.
Based on Rosbe's statement, they are close to providing more specific details about the premiere of "Rick and Morty" season 3 and considering December is not too far away, fans can get some news sooner rather than later.
"Rick and Morty" season 3 is expected to be the darkest and longest season of the beloved series yet. There will be 14 episodes this season instead of 10.
The series will be back with Rick in prison. The mad scientist will eventually get out of there, but remains to be seen just how he will do it with the security there.
However, it is expected that Morty will have a hand in his grandfather's escape, which means that fans will see him in "Rick and Morty" season 3 step up to the plate.
Unfortunately, it is also rumored that Morty will have another family-related problem, which involves his parents seeking divorce although this is yet to be confirmed.
