Fans of the adult animated sci-fi sitcom "Rick and Morty" have been waiting for more than a year for season 3, and co-creator Mark Harmon broke down a rap to give an update regarding the show's progress. Meanwhile, Adult Swim launched an interactive website for the fans of "Rick and Morty."

"Rick and Morty" last aired with its season 2 finale in October 2015, featuring Mr. Poopybutthole in an end-credits scene announcing that the show will return after a year and a half, dating March 2017.

Last year, series creators Harmon and Justin Roiland tried to launch "Rick and Morty" season 3 before 2016 ends, but they failed in doing so, leaving them the March 2017 benchmark for a launch date.

However, Harmon gave an update regarding the show's progress during a Harmontown podcast only recently.

"They're drawing it. ... Here's how cartoons work. First you write them, then you draw them for a really long time. Everything needs to be on paper, so you can see it. So if all I do is write it and then put it on TV, it'll look like a script," Harmon mused with matching beats and voice effects.

Den of Geek reports that Harmon and Roiland finished the script last year in September and that Adult Swim has control of when "Rick and Morty" season 3 will premiere.

However, assistant writer Mike McMahan announced on Twitter that the cast has already begun recording voiceovers, indicating that "Rick and Morty" season 3 may finally debut on Adult Swim before 2017 ends.

Since fans can't get enough of "Rick and Morty," Adult Swim created an interactive website that contains tons of web content to keep them distracted while waiting for the season 3 premiere.

The website contains animations, comments, and glitches that resonate with the "Rick and Morty" universe, keeping fans satisfied with more of their favorite adult cartoon.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 is anticipated to debut before 2017 ends on Adult Swim.
