Most of the details about "Rick and Morty" season 3 remain a mystery, as co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon choose to keep mum about them. To this day, fans don't even know when the series will be back on air.

Nevertheless, in a recent tweet by one of the show's writers, Mike McMahan, he said that season 3 is taking time because apparently, it's their "best season and worth the wait."

Fortunately, people behind the show give bits and pieces of updates through social media. It's worth noting, though, that the updates showing the series' progress don't give away much in terms of season 3's plot. Just recently, Erica Hayes showed the latest drawing board for "Rick and Morty" with the caption, "There was...an attempt" on Twitter.

The whiteboard image shows an evil Morty talking to Rick, so it could mean the rumors regarding the presence of evil Morty in season 3 is true. It will be recalled that "Rick and Morty" season 2 ended with Rick surrendering himself so his family will not need to hide anymore. As suggested by the drawing, evil Morty and Rick could be cooking up a plan to bust Rick out of the Galactic Federal Prison.

A video clip showing an insect-bodied Rick trying to break out of prison was recently posted on YouTube. The hilarious sketch could be an indication of what season 3 has in store for viewers apart from the previously shared mini-episode that tackled Summer's desire to go to college.

Moreover, there are speculations that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will feature an Interdimensional Cable and distorted universes plots. However, Roiland has expressed uncertainty concerning the plots, so it remains to be seen if these will be push through in season 3.

Adultswim is yet to announce an official airdate for "Rick and Morty" season 3, although there are talks it will premiere in December.
