'Rick and Morty' release date news update: Creator Justin Roiland reveals trailer for his first game 'Accounting'
A lot of people are waiting for the third season of "Rick and Morty" to hit Adult Swim but co-creator Justin Roiland is busy working on a new virtual reality game called "Accounting." A new trailer was recently released for the game.
The game is being developed by the guys behind "The Stanley Parable" and the trailer looks absolutely crazy. The video starts with a view inside a regular office space and things just get weirder and weirder as the clip plays along. No clear goal of the game has been identified in the clip, but it looks like a lot of it will have the player moving from the setting of the office to what looks like one's imagination littered with random office supplies.
A lot of people recognize Roiland's voice as the narrator and a lot of the dialogue is reminiscent to the improvised lines that have made its trademark on "Rick and Morty." Roiland's reputation so far has mostly placed him in animated series like "Adventure Time," "Gravity Falls" and of course, "Rick and Morty."
A lot of people didn't really know what to expect when Roiland announced that he would be working on games but by the looks of the trailer, Squanchtendo, Roiland's game studio, has a lot of different things to offer to the gaming community.
According to Ars Technica, the game will be available for free on Steam. Roiland said, "That's one of the benefits of having the game be complimentary... If we're selling this, now we have to show a little too much. It's like, 'Why am I paying $3 for...?' It's so much better if it's, you know, 'It's Accounting in VR? It's free, whatever, I'll try it. The people behind it, I like what they've done."
"Rick and Morty" may be coming sometime next year but "Accounting" is said to be available "very soon."
