'Resident Evil 2' remake release date, news, rumors: Capcom to present game remake at PSX 2016?
Following talks regarding the remake of Capcom's classic horror shooter video game "Resident Evil 2" earlier this year, the Japanese game studio seems to be open to remaking the game and introduce it to this generation. However, with another huge game release in January next year, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," Capcom has not spoken much about the "Resident Evil 2" remake.
The good news for those following the "Resident Evil 2" remake development is that Capcom may reveal their plans for the said game title at the upcoming PlayStation Experience 2016 event. According to Mobile N Apps, there is a chance that Capcom will formally present the remake video game at the PSX 2016 along with the soon-to-be-released "Resident Evil 7." The players do not know what to expect from Capcom as they reinvent the classic horror video game, but the followers of the "Resident Evil" franchise are nevertheless thrilled as this is one step by Capcom to bring the series back to its horror roots.
"Resident Evil" game creator Masochika Kawata, who is also expected to lead the "Resident Evil 2" remake, revealed the initial status of this project.
"There's a separate producer for RE Remake 2, who is hard at work right now. All that we can say is we hope that we'd have information to share soon. Creating the original Outbreak was a huge task for Capcom. It was a unique game with online and other elements like that," Kawata revealed in an interview with Yuga Tech (via Mobile N Apps).
"In order to make a successor to that, it would require a lot of planning from Capcom to get it right. However, we're also always listening to what fans want, so that can be the impetus for us to making a successor for that title," he added.
There are a lot of things to explore in the "Resident Evil 2" remake, and Capcom can be more creative as this generation's gaming technology has become more advance compared to the year when the original "Resident Evil 2" was released.
