'Reign' Season 2 Spoilers: Mary-Francis Marriage On The Rocks; Characters Face Grave Danger

When "Reign" comes back on The CW this Jan. 22, the lives of the show's major characters will be in grave danger.

We will find out also why Mary's (Adelaide Kane) marriage to Francis (Tony Regbo) is on the rocks. Francis is being blamed by no less than the Queen of France for attacking her. Mary, however, is not threatened by it and instead tries to save Conde (Sean Teale) from possible death while in the hands of the Vatican.

If you've been following the series, you should know that Conde is being hunted because of his association with a group of Catholic rebels who put a Devil's mark on Protestants, which signifies that the person bearing it no longer has a soul. These rebels form a group called the "Dark Riders." They are also rumored to be connected with the Reckoning and the Castle Ghosts.

Mary will do her best to save Conde, who is also doing his best to hide his real feelings for Mary. Now that Mary's relationship with Francis is shaky, will Conde succeed in trying to make Mary fall for him, too? Will Conde even try when he finds out that only Francis can save his life? Meanwhile, Francis will be torn because saving Conde will mean putting his half brother Bash's (Torrance Coombs) life in danger.

Claude's (Rose Williams) mortality will also be at risk. We remember her mother Catherine (Megan Follows) trying to poison her in the mid-season finale. Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) will do her best to warn Claude about her mother and will confess about Catherine's real intentions. However, we have yet to see whether Claude will listen to Kenna.
