'Real Housewives of Atlanta' news: Apollo Nida to appear next season with fiancee

Apollo Nida, ex-husband of reality star Phaedra Parks from "Real Housewives of Atlanta," has found love in a hopeless place. Serving time in prison isn't affecting the love life of Parks' former husband. He is reportedly engaged to Sherien Almufti, and is expected to appear in the upcoming season of Bravo's reality show.

According to reports, the network has tried keeping the two's love affair a secret, since both parties are filming for the forthcoming season of "Real Housewives of Atlanta." Sources told TMZ that the couple started dating around two years ago, before he served his sentence. They got engaged just a few months ago.

The outlet reported that Nida's fiancée lives in New Jersey, which is quite close to the federal prison where he's serving time. Almufti reportedly visits her husband-to-be twice a week.

TMZ also noted that Nida will "appear" on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" through a phone conversation. Although Almufti will not be shooting scenes with Park, the latter's reaction to their engagement will be featured on the show.

Though the network is trying to keep their relationship a secret, the couple has been posting hints on their social media accounts. Since Nida is in prison, he isn't allowed to have a smartphone. Hence, reports suspected that the posts could have been made by someone from his team.

Nida posted a photo on Instagram of a man and woman with the message, "Every man needs a woman when his life is a mess, because just like in a game of chess; the queen protects the king." Though he didn't mention specifics, it most likely pertains to his relationship with his fiancée.

Almufti, on the other hand, has been more outspoken about their relationship. On her Instagram account, she shared a photo of her kissing a framed magazine cover of Nida. She captioned it with, "Oh how I miss this man!"
