Ray Donovan Season 3 Renewed or Canceled? Showtime Renews Crime Drama Series
Showtime has green-lighted the renewal of crime drama series Ray Donovan for its third season. It was fortunate for the show to be included on the list of renewals together with Masters of Sex, unlike other programs that have slowly finished their runs on the network, such as Weeds and Dexter.
Network president David Nevins said that Ray Donovan is "quintessentially Showtime" as it is "bold, provocative, premium television with production values at the top of the food chain".
He added that it is "filled with complex and interesting characters and settings that will no doubt give audiences compelling television to invest in for seasons to come".
The show averaged 5 million weekly viewers, according to Variety. The filming will reportedly begin early 2015 while the premiere is slated for July 2015. This date is based on the fact that Ray Donovan's last season premiered around July of this year.
The cast of the show include John Voight, Liev Schreiber, Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey and Devon Bagby. New characters are expected to be added to the cast this upcoming season, although at present no official news has been presented as to who might be joining the show.
It is expected that Katherine Moennig will remain as Lena, Steve Bauer as Avi, and Kerris Dorset as Bridget.
