'Bates Motel' season 5 release date, plot news: What will Dylan do to Norman when he finds out he's Norma's killer?
The last season of "Psycho" finally saw the death of Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) in the hands of Norman (Freddie Highmore), and it looks like the series is going to end where Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" started off (well, sort of). With that being said, it is still unknown what Norman's brother Dylan (Max Thieriot) will do once he finds out that Norman was actually Norma Bates' killer.
According to Movie New Guide, Thieriot has already come out with what he thinks will happen to Dylan after he finds out about Norma's murder. The actor says that Norman and Dylan share a special bond between brothers, but with the death of their mother, things could very much change regarding the relationship between the two.
"I think that this is something that is such a massive thing, can Dylan ever forgive Norman for what he's done to their mom?" said Thieriot in an interview with Showbiz Junkies.
Thieriot says that shooting for the fifth season will begin this September, and he is excited to be directing one episode in the season. He admits that he hasn't read the script for the episode yet, but fans will be happy to see the dedication that he has to the series on and off camera.
With the season nearing its end, a good guess could be that Dylan will also see his end in the hands of Norman. When Hitchcock's "Psycho" begins, Norman is running the hotel by himself and storing his mother's body in the old house. With Dylan nowhere to be seen in that movie, it's smart to guess that he would either have been killed or taken away somewhere.
The fifth season will also have Rihanna playing Marion Crane a.k.a. the girl who gets killed in the shower in the first act, so the final season of the series could also play out the way the movie does, and end with Norman's arrest.
The final season of "Bates Motel" will air in March 2017.
