This month, the latest lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus Subscribers will be mostly horror-themed which is timely for the upcoming Halloween. Players are hyped to play the classic "Resident Evil" video game by Gamecube, even though the game has already been around for 14 years now.

As reported by Express UK, PS Plus will be including the "Resident Evil HD" remastered edition which was released on Jan. 20, 2015, and was launched in PC platform, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. However, the game itself was released more than a decade ago.

The players will be given the choice to play "Resident Evil HD" in either the original 4:3 ratio or the new and enhanced 16:9 widescreen version. Starting on Oct. 4, the game will be available for free to the PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Meanwhile, the Hasbro fans will be delighted in the new lineup for PS Plus this month as "Transformers: Devastation" will be included in the list. This "Transformers" game title is more reminiscent of the older cartoon series of the '80s, which is good for those who are looking for an old school gaming experience. Even though the game is quite old, it still boasts an enjoyable and robust combat system that the hardcore action fans will surely love. "Transformers: Devastation" will be available on the PlayStation 4 console.

There are also other game titles for PS Vita that will be available for free this October. These games are "Code: Realize Guardian of Rebirth" and "Actual Sunlight." For the PlayStation 3 users, they can enjoy the classic indie games "Mad Riders" and "From Dust," according to the Business Insider website.

The PlayStation Plus program of Sony is the equivalent of the Xbox Games With Gold for the Xbox Live Gold members. Both the Xbox and Sony PlayStation released a lineup of free games this October, with the latter having "Super Mega Baseball" and "The Escapist." As noted by Express UK, it appears that the PS Plus lineup for this month is more catchy with the classic games such as "Resident Evil" and "Transformers" being featured as free game titles.
