'Prison Break' season 5 air date, spoilers: Will Michael's next breakout endanger Sara and their son's life?
The last time Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) saw each other, things ended up in tragedy. Will their upcoming reunion suffer from the same fate?
With only a few weeks before the year ends, the long wait for the fifth season of "Prison Break" may also be drawing to a close. Scheduled to premiere in Spring 2017 on FOX's Tuesday block, the hit crime-thriller series has been the subject of rumors and speculations among fans who are more than eager to see how the remaining members of the infamous Fox River Eight will band together to break Michael out of a Yemeni prison.
Even though the network has yet to announce an actual air date for the nine-episode revival series' premiere, information and speculations about its storyline are far from scarce. Latest spoilers are suggesting that the limited series could end in tragedy. This has subsequently led fans to believe that a major character death may be expected. Will Michael die again, and this time for good? Or will it be Sara who meets an untimely demise?
Another thing that fans are looking forward to is Michael's reaction to the imminent discovery of his son by Sara and how this will play out now that his former wife is already married to another man. Will Michael be the kind of man who does whatever he can to get his family back, or will he be the self-sacrificing one that backs down in order to give Sara and his son a chance at a better life?
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has previously shared storyboards for one scene in the premiere episode wherein Michael's brother, Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) gets caught in a car chase that could end in a tragic accident. He is reportedly being chased after by a couple of new villains who are determined to keep the fact that Michael is alive a secret.
"If people start finding out that Michael is still alive, then it puts their larger secret agenda at risk," said executive producer Paul Scheuring, adding, "They'll kill anybody that finds out."
Will these new villains go after Sara and her family, too? Will Michael's escape from prison put everybody else's life at risk? Who are these people and what is their end game? All questions about the upcoming season, as well as the ones that were kept hanging in the air from the previous season will find their answers when "Prison Break" season 5 airs next year in Spring.
