'Pretty Little Liars' season 7B spoilers: Series finale to tie up show's loose ends
"Pretty Little Liars" has built a reputation of leaving viewers hanging. However, the cast and crew have promised in various instances that the show will tie up loose ends, including the identity of A.D. or Uber A, the show's killer.
A hint to the identity has been revealed in the show when A.D. introduced himself/herself as "hiding in plain sight," with the character using a variety of disguises to keep the other characters — and the audience — guessing about who he/she is. In a press interview, executive producer Marlene King said that the killer is the "smartest and most motivated A of all."
Speaking of A, King revealed that Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) will have a redemption arc, saying that her actions will become "comprehensible" to the audiences in the coming episodes.
King also said that the first episode of season 7B, which will take place immediately after the events of 7A, will show who survived and who died in the aftermath of the mid-season finale. However, what fans can expect is the return of Spencer (Troian Bellisario), despite being knocked unconscious at the mid-season finale.
King also revealed that "couples who are meant to be together will find their way back together" in season 7B. She also said that more than one wedding will take place in the upcoming episodes. However, she did not make the assurance that these couples will survive after the series finale.
While the show is coming to an end, the story of the Liars may not. According to King, there is a possibility that "Pretty Little Liars" will be brought to the big screen, although she assured viewers that the series finale will be the show's finale. Should this push through, their initial idea is that the film will take place around two years after the show's finale.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 will return on April 18 on Freeform.
