'Pretty Little Liars' season 7 spoilers, release date: Final season to air in April 2017
Fans of Freeform's mystery-thriller TV series "Pretty Little Liars" will not be airing anytime soon. The second half of the show is slated to return to the small screen on April 18, 2017.
Season 7B of "Pretty Little Liars" will premiere next year, TVLine reported. The official Twitter page for the show also revealed that the final 10 episodes of the series will be returning this April. The page shared a photo of the five main characters — Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Alison (Sasha Pietrse) — and captioned it, "Is it April yet? #PrettyLittleLiars."
The first episode of 7B will pick up where the show left off in the summer finale, with Spencer trying to survive. As usual, little is known about the final season. The network, the cast and crew have been tight-lipped. But last September, show creator Marlene King shared a significant teaser.
Through Twitter, King revealed a few lines from the grand finale of "Pretty Little Liars." It appeared to be a phone conversation between Spencer and Alison, which didn't reveal exact details about the episode. Instead, the lines prompted many speculations regarding the finale.
In the teaser, Spencer was asking Alison to be with the rest of the group. The line goes, "Come on Ali, I need us all together." When they hang up, Ali tells another person that she was talking to the State Police. The line cuts off mid-sentence, leaving the rest to the imagination.
As for the development of the final episodes, King recently tweeted, "Today we locked picture on the @PLLTVSeries series finale. The post production team, @Maya_Goldsmith and I are still not wrapped."
"Pretty Little Liars" Season 7B premieres in April 2017 on Freeform. The final episode will reportedly be two hours long.
