'Power Rangers' release date, news and updates: Toys give fans first look at the Tyrannosaurus Rex Zord
The "Might Morphin' Power Rangers" reboot is getting some traction with its marketing, and though fans have been teased about the appearance of the Dinozords before, they haven't really gotten a good look at them. Thanks to promotional images of the toys, fans get a rough look at the T-Rex Zord that will be controlled by the Red Ranger (Dacre Montgomery).
The image comes from Ranger Nation, and they also give a look at different toys like the Red Ranger's Power Sword and the Power Morpher. The Power Morpher is described to be the "first line of defense" of a Ranger, and inserting different power coins will make it emit different lights and sounds. There's one coin representing every Ranger and they also have an image of each Ranger's respective animal: T-rex for Red, Mammoth for Black, Pterodactyl for Pink, Sabertooth Lion for Yellow, and Triceratops for Blue.
The T-Rex Zord figure comes with a two-inch Red Ranger figure and it can also fire missiles. The figure also emits explosive sounds and it is also be able to connect with other Zords in the line to form the gigantic Megazord. Fans have their fingers crossed that the movie will have the Megazord appearing as well.
The posters released with the Dinozords didn't give a full look at the any of the individual alien machines, but they did express the scale that audiences can expect from the movie. It looks like if the Zords were to combine, the Megazord would tower above the Jaegers from Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim."
Fans still have a long wait ahead of them before the movie gets released in cinemas, and they can expect more promotional materials and toys to make its way to shelves till then.
The "Power Rangers" reboot hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
