'Pokemon Sun and Moon' release date news, trailer: Final evolutions of starter Pokemon revealed
In a few more weeks, fans of the "Pokemon" franchise will be able to play "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The upcoming titles will be exclusively available for the Nintendo 3DS. Just last week, fans were treated to a trailer showing the final evolutions of the starter Pokemon in the video games.
For the uninitiated, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will introduce Rowlet, Litten and Popplio as the starter Pokemon for the game. As revealed by the trailer, Rowlet's final forms will be Decidueye, Litten's will be Incineroar, and Popplio's will be Primarina.
Decidueye belongs to the Arrow Quill Pokemon category. This creature is designed as a grass-type and ghost-type Pokemon that attacks its enemies with arrow quills spawned from its wings. Its ghost-type prowess allows the Decidueye to acquire a special skill called Spirit Shackle. The ability hinders the opponent from fleeing from battle or from switching with another Pokemon.
Litten's final evolution, the Incineroar, is a fire-type and dark-type Pokemon. Moreover, the Incineroar belongs to the Heel category. Though in its final state, this Pokemon is able to use one popular ability from its pre-evolved forms, Blaze. Its special skill comes from being a dark-type Pokemon. With the Darkest Lariat, the Incineroar is able to cause damage to its opponent, regardless of the effects of stat changes that the target has employed.
As Popplio continues to evolve in the game, it turns into several forms until it becomes the Primarina, the final evolved form of this Pokemon. The Popplio becomes a soloist once it evolves into a Primarina. Furthermore, it turns into a water-type and fairy-type Pokemon. Its special movie is called the Sparkling Aria, a skill which can only be learned by the Primarina. With this ability, gamers can heal the burns of any of its targets.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be available in Japan, Australia, the United States, Canada and more starting Nov. 18.
