The latest update for "Pokémon GO" makes it easier to catch Pokémon in parks and other outdoor spots by increasing the spawn rates of the pocket monsters.

This should make for effortless hunting and less walking. This is also a good way to accumulate Pokémon before the second-generation creatures from the highly anticipated Gen 2 "Pokémon GO" update arrives.

Niantic Labs did not get into detail about this, though. It is unclear if the increase in the number of Pokémon up for grabs also meant that rare creatures will also have more frequent appearance than before.

"Pokémon GO" would like to see more rarity in the type of Pokémon that show themselves. Whether or not this update takes care of that is unknown.

Meanwhile, Niantic also continues to bump up the Pokémon roster in the game, adding just recently three new critters, namely Pichu, Togepi and Magby.

These Pokémon, however, will have to be hatched from eggs instead of being traditionally caught. More creatures will be added from the "Pokémon GO" Gen 2 update.

Unlike the previous reports, this massive update will not introduce the expected more-than-100 new Pokemon in one fell swoop. Instead, the bulking of the roster will be gradual so expect new Pokémon to be added in the coming months.

"Pokémon GO" players can get an idea of which Pokémon to expect by checking the Pokédex, in which the evolution path of Pokemon is detailed.

Pocket-Lint has provided a list of Pokémon that fans can expect from the Gen 2 update to arrive in the coming year. Majority of them are evolved versions of existing Pokémon.

In other news, it is being reported that Niantic is developing its own wearables dedicated to "Pokémon GO," which is why the Apple Watch development for the augmented reality game is on hold.

This is why, according to sources that spoke to 9to5mac, the Apple Watch for "Pokémon GO" is still nowhere to be found.

It is to be noted that a Niantic representative confirmed to GameSpot a few days ago that the Apple Watch is still a go and that more information will be provided "soon."
