'Pokémon Go' IV Calculator guide, tips: Best PokéAdvisor alternative and workaround
"Pokémon Go" is Niantic Lab's ultimate cash cow with record breaking downloads on Apple Store and Google Play including a $200-million revenue 30 days since its debut. However, technical glitches and a series of "Pokémon Go" tool shutdowns get in the way of good gaming experience. Much to the gamers' annoyance, PokéAdvisor has been rendered inaccessible, forcing users to search for other useful workarounds.
With many stat-tracking websites unavailable for access, a number of tracking alternatives have been suggested by "Pokémon Go" buffs. For the uninitiated, PokéAdvisor is a tracking site used by "Pokémon Go" trainers to monitor their progress. In a nutshell, this tool gives players a complete view of Pokédex, trainer stats, community leaderboards, and the exact IV for their captured Pokémon.
Now that PokéAdvisor remains in limbo, many trainers are turning to a number of IV calculators available online to help them assess their Pokémon creatures' hidden defense, attack and stamina IV values. Having a knowledge of these values helps "Pokémon Go" trainers assess their combat power (CP) and hit power (HP), The Guardian reported. Among the available substitutes, Android-based "Pokémon Go" IV Calculator is viewed as the most accurate online alternatives to PokéAdvisor, according to some tech observers.
It doesn't work exactly as the PokeAdvisor, but it's closer to it than most online calculators are. To use it, one has to enter Pokémon IV stat values into the tool. But it takes a little longer than usual since the app processes the information manually.
Morning Ledger also reported other options that players can explore such as the PokéAssistant, GoStats, Pokémon Manager, GoIV, PokémonGoProTips and PogoBag.
Meanwhile, a beta version of the new Nearby tracker is currently being tested. The tracker reveals the presence of Pokémon creatures within a player's immediate vicinity including the PokéStops where these virtual creatures are located. The tool works by tapping on the Pokémon and hitting the View button which then takes players back to the map screen where they can locate the target with their avatar as a reference, CNET reported.
