Philadelphia 76ers trade rumors: Noel linked to a move to the Warriors
Despite being regularly part of the rumor speculations, the Philadelphia 76ers still includes Nerlens Noel in their roster. The center is now entering his third year as a professional and is hoping to continue his slow rise in the league.
In his first two years, Noel did relatively well, averaging 10.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
However, he is out to start the 2016-17 campaign after undergoing minor surgery to help fix an injury found above his left knee.
So far though, the Sixers appear not to have missed him as much because they finally had Joel Embiid in the line-up to start the campaign. Despite a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Embiid impressed the crowd as he scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds while playing under 23 minutes that night.
As a result, talks are now circulating that Noel may be traded and the new team linked to him is the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors were expected to have a great start this season as they have four All-Stars in the line-up: Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.
However, they were thoroughly beaten by the San Antonio Spurs which shows that they had weak interior defense and still needed more time to build their chemistry.
With the supposed addition of Noel, the Warriors are likely to address the first issue and could just try and pick up the slack.
The season is still new and there are still a lot of changes expected to happen. If Noel is shipped over to the Warriors, he will have the whole season to adjust and learn while playing with the best players in the league.
On the other hand, the Warriors will also benefit as they would get a young center who can be a powerhouse in the future. Noel might even be the missing piece to make the team unstoppable.
