Director Steve S. DeKnight recently unveiled the official logo for the film sequel, "Pacific Rim: Uprising."

As reported by Movie Web, DeKnight took to Instagram to share the official logo of the next "Pacific Rim" movie. Nothing much can be seen from the logo as far as the plot of the upcoming movie goes. However, the blazing streak of fire that can be found between the words "Pacific" and "Rim" hints at an action-packed sequel to the original "Pacific Rim" movie.

The film's logo arrived just a few days after the first image of three new Jaegers was revealed in the latest issue of License! Global. One of the new Jaegers in the poster bears similarity with the iconic Gipsy Danger from the original movie, featuring the same sort of nuclear reactor design found on the Gipsy Danger's chest.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" stars John Boyega as Jake Pentecost — the son of the late Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) in the original movie. Returning cast members from "Pacific Rim" include Rinko Kikuchi as Mako Maori, Burn Gorman as Gottlieb, and Charlie Day as Newton Geisler.

In a recent interview with UPROXX, Day spoke about "Pacific Rim: Uprising," providing an early report regarding the movie's production.

"I'm in the middle of it right now," Day said, speaking about filming his role in the upcoming sci-fi action movie.

"I can't say too much," he admitted, adding: "I mean, I don't know how the rest is going, but my stuff has been going really well. And Steven DeKnight I think he has kind of really good vision for what to do with the sequel. And the cast is really sort of eclectic."

Day also discussed his "Pacific Rim" co-star, Boyega, revealing that he has not worked with him yet, but his encounters with him have been a "delight."

"He is a delight. We figured out that I think he's from the town that my middle name is from. My middle name is Peckham, which is from a town in England because I guess my ancestors came from there. So we may be related," the actor stated.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 23, 2018.
