'Outlander' season 3 spoilers, plot news: show to include another character that Jamie sleeps with?

One more character from the book series by Diana Gabaldon will be part of "Outlander" season 3. This character is none other than Mary McNab.

According to reports, Emma Campbell-Jones will play the role in the new season of the hit time-travel drama, which is currently in production.

Readers will know Mary from the book, "Voyager," in which "Outlander" season 3 is based although she was also in the first two books, "Outlander" and "Dragonfly in Amber."

The character's dealings with Jamie (played by Sam Heughan in the small screen adaptation) in the book will lead to dire consequences for the protagonist.

Mary is the wife of the violent drunkard Ronald, who abuses their son, Rabbie. As fans who follow the show know very well, Ronald appeared in the first season of "Outlander." He was played by actor Richard Jack.

If the reports are to be believed, "Outlander" season 3 will explore Ronald's family life a bit more. Learning of the horrible situation Mary and Rabbie are in, Jamie helps Mary and Rabbie get as far away from Ronald as possible.

This does not sit well with the abusive father, leading him to exact revenge on Jamie by turning him over to the Watch, which leads to his incarceration in the Wentworth Prison.

Additionally, Jamie and Mary will have a steamy moment in "Outlander" season 3, if the show were to follow the books. In "Voyager," Mary will visit Jamie one night to offer her body in the hopes of making him feel whole as he longs for Claire (played by Catriona Balfe) in the series.

From the looks of it, "Outlander" season 3 will indeed be full packed with intimate scenes. The one with Mary as well as another with Geneva Dunsany (to be played by Hannah James), who will force Jamie to deflower her. Of course, the infamous print shop scene with Claire is one that fans are waiting for.
