Orlando Magic news: Head coach Vogel wants to remodel Magic to Pacers

The Orlando Magic is one of the teams who made a lot of movement in the summer and now they are hoping that all can turn positive for the 2016-17 campaign.

They lost a few players to trades as Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and Domantas Sabonis are now with the Oklahoma City Thunder but the Magic still picked up great pieces. Serge Ibaka is now with the team as he hopes to revive his career.

Adding even more depth to the big man position, the Magic also picked up Bismack Biyombo from the Toronto Raptors. This shows that the Magic is now a deep team and can surprise a few of the stronger teams in the league.

At the helm is head coach Frank Vogel who comes in after coaching multiple seasons with the Indiana Pacers.

Vogel has transformed the Pacers into a perennial playoff contender and according to reports, he is also trying to fit the Magic in the same mold.

Some might think that this is a good idea, and if Vogel is to be believed, he sees the current line-up as similar to the Pacers team he had years ago.

The addition of Ibaka and Biyombo injects the fact that Vogel enjoys playing at least two big men on the floor at all times. This is similar to when the Pacers had Roy Hibbert and David West in the line-up.

And if, in fact, the Magic are trying to model themselves like the old Pacers team, then Vogel should be leading the squad as he knows how to maximize the roster.

According to Orlando Sentinel, Vogel that that he will be with the Magic for a long time. With his influence on what the line-up is shaping up to be, it may be true.

However, with the game evolving and the stars continuing to improve, Orlando fans must hope that Vogel's vision can still apply to today's game.
