Orange is the New Black Season 3 Release Date: Netflix Cast Spoilers and Latest News

Netflix has officially announced that Orange is the New Black Season 3 will be airing around June or July of next year. While they have not publicly discussed the exact details, the production team has confirmed that the show is already underway.

Taystee, played by Danielle Brooks, revealed that the production has begun filming the show, and they are excited for the airing of the show early 2015.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Orange is the New Black premiered on July 11, 2013 and June 6, 2014 respectively.

With almost a year before the return of the show, details about Season 3 are scarce. However, we have learned that Blair Brown, Mary Steenburgen and Mike Birbiglia will be joining the show. On the other hand, actors George Mendez and Jason Biggs are no longer to appear in the next season.

Rumor has it that an actress, Lorraine Toussaint, who plays the role of Yvonne "Vee" Parker, is also to leave the show. She played as an antagonist in Orange is the New Black and is also part of the cast of Forever, a new crime drama in ABC.

On another note, Laura Prepon is also rumored to become a regular character in the show. We remember her first appearance in Season 2; however, they weren't very regular. In an interview with the April Daily Beast, Prepon mentioned that a regular appearance was not possible last season because of conflict in her schedule. It looks like we will be seeing more of her in Season 3.

Orange is the New Black, produced by Tilted Productions in connection with Lionsgate Television, is about the true experiences in prison of Piper Kerman (played by Taylor Schilling). The show has received 12 Emmy Award nominations in 2014.
