The OnePlus 4 will not ditch the headphone jack. If OnePlus will listen to what users have to say, the next "flagship killer" is not losing the traditional 3.5-millimeter headphone jack.

OnePlus co-founder took to Twitter to reach users and ask their opinion on a possible design change—to remove or not to remove the precious jack that Apple so famously killed in the iPhone 7.

The results show that many users would want the OnePlus 4 not to go jack-less, with 88 percent of the voters saying they want the feature to be kept in the flagship.

It appears that OnePlus is deep into the development of the OnePlus 4, which is expected to arrive earlier than expected.

Reports have it that instead of June 2017, one year after its predecessor was released, the OnePlus 4 is expected to see the light of day as early as May next year instead.

With regards to the headphone jack, Apple's decision to remove it had users divided, some digging the new design while others were not too happy, as their ability to listen to music while charging is no longer possible.

It also meant that users will have to use wireless headphones or Apple's special earbuds, which they have to buy separately. For audiophiles, they worry that the music quality will decrease.

If OnePlus will take into account the result of Pay's poll, OnePlus 4 might still have the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, analysts believe that sooner or later, the mobile world will have to let go of it anyway.

Some say that Apple jumped into the innovation too soon. With Bluetooth headphones and wireless listening still not perfect enough to kill the headphone jack.

OnePlus 4 is also expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor with 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage.
