OnePlus 4 release date: OnePlus 3T variant to be released first?
Although there is already excitement surrounding the OnePlus 4, a new leak suggests that OnePlus is not done with the OnePlus 3.
A device called OnePlus 3T is reportedly in the works, with a designer from the China-based company posting on Weibo using the unannounced device, according to PhoneRadar.
Details about this device are scarce, but it is reported to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and will run Android 7.0 Nougat.
There have been rumors in the past that before the OnePlus 4, its predecessor will reportedly get a hardware upgrade. This might be the OnePlus 3T.
It is important to note that prior to the report about the OnePlus 3T, there was also a device that passed by the China Compulsory Certification (3C) with a moniker OnePlus 3S. There is no word whether or not these devices are one and the same.
Despite the purported plans of OnePlus to do more on their third-generation flagship, rumors and reports about the OnePlus 4 are already gaining momentum.
It is being said that the OnePlus 4 will house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset, which is the next big thing in mobile processors and is now in the works.
This will basically allow the OnePlus 4 to offer up to 8GB RAM, which the tech firm is expected to take advantage. The OnePlus 3 already had 6GB RAM and there is nowhere else to go than up.
The OnePlus 4 is also expected to boast a 23-megapixel (MP) primary camera and an 8MP shooter on the front. Add to that a 4,000mAh battery unit.
The flagship is believed to come with an optic AMOLED display as OnePlus CEO Carl Pei announced via GSMArena that they will make use of such screens for their future mobile products.
With regards to the release date, the OnePlus 4 is rumored to be released May 2017. It is unclear when the leaked OnePlus 3T will be out.
