OnePlus 4 release date, news & update: 256 GB and wireless charging to beat premium smartphones
OnePlus' upcoming fourth installment for its smartphone line will reportedly feature massive upgrades. If the rumors are true, the device will feature a huge RAM storage and internal storage capacity, wireless charging and a fast processor.
For the uninitiated, OnePlus is a smartphone company founded in China. Though its smartphone line isn't as sought after as Samsung and Apple's premium smartphones, the upcoming developments to its gadget might get it on the tech giants' level.
According to recent reports, the OnePlus 4's 4K organic light-emitting diode (OLED) will be incorporated in a 5.5-inch screen. Like the rumors for Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Apple's iPhone 7, the device will reportedly have a fingerprint scanner.
The gadget will have a massive storage capacity of 256 GB. Users will also have the option to expand this with a microSD. In addition, rumors point out that the smartphone could host the Snapdragon 830 chip.
One of the key features of the device is its RAM, which will have 8 GB worth of storage. The iPhone 7 has only 2 GB while the Galaxy Note 7 has 4 GB. If the Chinese manufacturer will launch it with said storage capacity, it will definitely get the attention of tech-savvy individuals.
Another feature that could get OnePlus to be on par with tech giants is its alleged wireless charging feature. Though recent reports haven't ventured into the possibilities of the feature, news outlets report that this is a highly anticipated upgrade.
All this will cost buyers $400, reports say. The latest device in OnePlus' smartphone line was revealed this year; hence, the succeeding device might be unveiled sometime in 2017.
The China phone manufacturer has yet to confirm the rumored specs, price date, and release date for the OnePlus 4. Reports should be treated as speculation until proven otherwise.
Watch out for more updates on the upcoming smartphone OnePlus 4.
