OnePlus 4 release date, news, specs rumors: Upcoming OnePlus 3T will affect release schedule of OnePlus 4 next year

For the past few months, it has been rumored that the next iteration of the OnePlus smartphone will be released sometime next year. Specifically, the much awaited OnePlus 4 is poised to be the most powerful handset from the company yet, surpassing the already impressive features and design of the current OnePlus 3 model. The next OnePlus handset, dubbed as the "flagship killer," is expected to rival Apple's iPhone 8 and Samsung's Galaxy S8 smartphone next year.

However, according to the recent reports, there might be some changes in the scheduled unveiling of the OnePlus 4 next year. As reported by the iTech Post, OnePlus is currently gearing up for the release of the enhanced version of their current handset model. To recall, the OnePlus 3 was first released last June, catching the attention of many tech enthusiasts due to its impressive specs lineup. After the OnePlus 3, it is rumored that the turbo version of this handset model, the OnePlus 3T, will be released before the year ends.

With this, the unveiling of the OnePlus 3T later this year may further delay the release of the OnePlus 4 in 2017. Basing on the usual schedule of OnePlus smartphone release, the OnePlus 4 might be released mid-2017, but that can still change due to OnePlus 3T entering the picture.

The success of the OnePlus 4, however, might also be affected by the upcoming OnePlus 3T. This is because of the increased expectation from the users, who already found the current OnePlus 3 version powerful. Outclassing the previous iteration might be a hard thing to do, especially if its features are already impressive.

 Tech Times reported that the OnePlus 4 will be coming in special. It is expected to be the first in the OnePlus series to sport the high-powered Snapdragon 830 SoC chipset running at 3GHz. The flagship killer may also include an Adreno 620 graphics card along with 8GB RAM and extended storage capacity going up to 128GB. The OnePlus 4 will boast extended battery life at 4,200mAh.

 The OnePlus 4 is also expected to boast an improvement in the camera department, sporting a dual camera setup similar to this year's iPhone 7. The camera is expected to have 24MP back camera and 8MP front cam, First Post reported.
