OnePlus has just released the latest iteration of their flagship smartphone earlier this year. The OnePlus 3 has been well-received by the normal users and tech analysts alike, boasting an impressive lineup of specs and a sophisticated design. However, there are new rumors that a new OnePlus 3 variant will be released soon, but the OnePlus company itself remains silent.

While OnePlus might be keeping their OnePlus 3T plans under wraps, the chipset maker Qualcomm appears to have spilled the beans ahead of the new handset's release. As reported by Slash Gear, Qualcomm released a teaser that the upcoming OnePlus handset will be powered by their latest Snapdragon 821 processor.

As OnePlus has not yet revealed any plans of an upcoming OnePlus smartphone, Qualcomm may have already confirmed that the OnePlus 3T will arrive in the coming days. To note, Qualcomm has not specified what exact OnePlus handset will be receiving the new Snapdragon 821 chipset, so it is also possible that the latest Qualcomm processor will not be included in the OnePlus 3T.

Specifically, Qualcomm's latest tweet only confirmed that the processor of the partly next generation handset will only be changed, but the rest of the core specs of the OnePlus smartphone may or may not remain the same. It is possible that the OnePlus 3T will retain the 6GB RAM and the 5.5-inch 1080p screen display.

The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T may not be too different from each other. However, it shoyld be expected that there will be a few boosts in the turbo version. According to Indian Express, the enhanced Snapdragon 821 SoC has a top clock speed advantage over OnePlus 3's SD 820, running at 2.4GHz compared to SD 820's 2.15 GHz.

Yibada reported that the OnePlus 3T will keep the Optic AMOLED screen display feature, as OnePlus CEO Carl Pei earlier revealed that the AMOLED screens will remain in their products "for the foreseeable future." Although there are rumors regarding the shortafe of OLED panel supply, it does not seem likely that the future OnePlus smartphones will go back to the usual LCD screens.
