According to the latest speculations, the upcoming OnePlus 3T will not only be better, it will also be more expensive. Currently, the OnePlus 3 can be bought for $399. According to tech blogger Evan Blass, the manufacturers will have to factor in the time they spent in creating the device to come up with its price.
Recent reports claim that the OnePlus 3T was initially named the OnePlus 3S. Moreover, the upcoming smartphone will reportedly be powered by a faster chip. Like Google's Pixel phones, the 3T will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei posted on Twitter, stating that company will be utilizing AMOLED displays "for the foreseeable future." Despite Pei's announcement, numerous reports have been circulating, suggesting that the upcoming smartphone will have a LED display.
Android Police reported that OnePlus is facing difficulties with acquiring the AMOLED panels needed for the 3T. On the other hand, the news outlet suspected that the manufacturers might not go with an HD 1,080 p AMOLED screen. The publication believed that OnePlus could go for a higher resolution LCD panel instead.
Since the upcoming device will be more expensive than its preceding unit, many have speculated that new features such as water resistance will be introduced to the smartphone series.
Though OnePlus has not officially confirmed the development of the smartphone, a device from the company called A3010 already successfully passed Chinese regulators. OnePlus junkies suggested that the A3010 is actually the upcoming OnePlus 3T.
