Will the upcoming second season of the hit Japanese anime series "One Punch Man" finally feature Saitama at the peak of his immense strength, or will his weakness finally be discovered?

Although the titular character has won every fight he's ever been in so far, quickly and satisfactorily, fans can't help but wonder if they had really seen Saitama at his very best even during his explosive fight against the villainous alien Lord Boros. However, recent rumors about the upcoming sophomore season of "One Punch Man" are saying that the Hero Association's Caped Baldy may finally meet his match in the popular and dangerously sly Class A Rank 1 hero, Amai Mask.

The said hero fits his name perfectly since he is the kind of man who quite efficiently navigates the world with two different faces: that of a heroic icon, who inspires his fans with his artistry in acting and singing, and that of a brutal executioner who exterminates who and what he deems as evil without second thoughts.

Amai Mask also possesses a smart and inquiring mind, and is thus rumored to eventually unravel the seemingly invincible Saitama's weakness, which could either go both ways for the Class C hero. A worthy rival may initially bring the hero to a painful defeat, but this downfall could only lead to the realization of a need for a balanced improvement. If this is true, will Amai Mask turn out to be an eventual ally or a dangerous foe for Saitama?

Meanwhile, Garou's rumored appearance in "One Punch Man" season 2 now seems unlikely to some fans, who are speculating that the upcoming season's major battle could instead feature an intense rematch between Saitama and the returning villain Lord Boros. The now improved and much stronger alien may finally be able to drive Caped Baldy to the very heights of his power. Other rumored villains include Metal Bat, King, and Saitama's cyborg companion, Genos.

"One Punch Man" season 2 is rumored to kick off in mid-2017.
