Rudy Gay of the Sacramento Kings has always been in the middle of trade talks recently and it appears that the Thunder's name has been thrown in the mix.

After being one of the busiest teams in the National Basketball Association due to multiple moves this summer, the Oklahoma City Thunder may still have a few moves left up its sleeve. Not all the movements are positive though, as the Thunder is still considered to be one of the biggest teams to lose talent this year following the departure of Kevin Durant.

Before Durant's decision to move to the Golden State Warriors, the Thunder was a perennial title contender who always had at least two superstars that were considered favorites to lift the team.

However, this has now changed, and the Thunder is left with only Russell Westbrook and a host of capable players striving to keep the team afloat.

Many are wondering how the team will fare in the 2016-17 season, with Victor Oladipo as the biggest name next to Westbrook. The Thunder has been linked with big-name moves like Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers. All of these, however, are considered to be made after the 2016-17 season.

Meanwhile, Fan Sided linked a player that could potentially give them a short-term solution before this campaign begins – Rudy Gay.

It has been clear that Gay is not a perfect fit for the Kings but his output is undeniable as he remains one of the better two-way small forwards in the league.

Being a lengthy small forward, Gay averaged 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists last year and he may be someone the Thunder could find familiar given, that his skill set is relatively the same as Durant's.

While Gay may not be considered a long-term investment, having him in the roster to help keep the team afloat may be heavily considered especially when the Thunder's rivals are gradually improving as well.
