Nvidia has been successful in launching its GTX 10 series with recent GPUs, GTX 1060 and 1070, and is still enjoying high sales in the market today. However, there have been rumors that the company will be expanding the market base of the GTX 10 series by targeting the buyers who can't afford the expensive graphics cards. With this, it is expected that the Nvidia GTX 1050 will arrive very soon.

According to Yibada, it has long been rumored that the entry-level Nvidia GTX 1050 will be released in the last half of this year. Specifically, there are speculations that Nvidia will make the surprise announcement for the GTX 1050 early this September. However, it appears that there is an issue with the supposed GPU based on Pascal architecture. If the rumors are correct, the unveiling of the GTX 1050 might be delayed to the last week of September, Digi Times reported.

On the other hand, there is a possibility that Nvidia will showcase the GTX 1050 on the last part of September, and the new GPU will be available in the market starting this October.

As an entry-level graphics card, it can be expected that the GTX 1050 will be much less expensive than the GTX 1060 and 1070. It is possible that the upcoming GPU will have a tag price below $200. For instance, its 2 GB VRAM variant may be sold at $199, while the high-end GTX 1050 with 4 GB VRAM will be sold at $159, according to The Motley Fool.

The Nvidia GTX 1060 is supposed to get the latest Pascal architecture for its specs, but being poised as the entry-level version in the GTX 10 series, it might end up as a refreshed GTX 950. The GTX 1050 may have the same CUDA count with the GTX 950, but having the newer Pascal architecture, its clock speeds may get as fast as 1316 MHz base and 1380 MHz boost, greater than the GTX 950's 1024 MHz and 1188 MHz.
