'No Man's Sky' updates: Players have been offered refunds regardless of logged-in game time
The developers of "No Man's Sky" have found themselves in a bind. Gamers have been complaining nonstop about how the game doesn't have any of the features promised when the game was first announced. And even after the developers have released three patches to fix all the problems, users have still been adamant on receiving a refund for the game. Reports are saying that Sony and Amazon US have been giving out refunds no questions asked, but now there is news that Sony has been applying a more thorough inspection on the refunds.
According to Inquisitr, users of the game were allowed to have it refunded regardless of the game time that they have logged-in to the game. But now, it's said that Sony has added some extra steps to the refund process.
Apparently, Sony is asking users to run some tests on the game to troubleshoot the game's performance, and once Sony verifies the problems with the game, the user enters the next step in the process. People who have locked in 2-4 hours in the game and have justifiable technical problems will be allowed to ask for an eligible refund.
The steps were applied after an enormous request for refunds appeared after it was announced on Steam. The lack of clarity with the refund process of "No Man's Sky" has left dozens of users frustrated. The game is available via Steam, Sony, and Amazon, and with the price of $59.99, players are justified to ask for a refund for a seemingly broken game.
According to Slashdot, Sony's former strategic content director, Shahid Kamal Ahmad, has been openly expressing his frustrations about the refunds on Twitter and has been calling players who have played the game for more than 50 hours and asking for refunds as "thieves."
Only time will tell when "No Man's Sky" will be able to deliver the unique experience that its developers have promised.
