The upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive "No Man's Sky" is expected to become one of this year's most innovative games when it is released as expected in August.

Many reviewers are saying this exclusive inter-planetary exploration-based game will give gamers a reason to splurge on a brand-new PS4 over Xbox One this summer.

Since its announcement last year, the one-of-a-kind title has been climbing its way to the top of the ranking of upcoming games, drawing not a few inquisitive eyes to date.

The game, developed by Hello Games, revolves around space exploration in an expansive universe that its developers say won't stop surprising you after a few hours of playing the game.

In an interview with Polygon, art director Grant Duncan said developers built a space probe to explore each of the game's 8 quintillion worlds, documenting interstellar travels via videos and GIFs.

The probe is said to comprise of algorithms and codes, made up of what Duncan calls the "seeds," that will make each of the worlds in the game unique, Venture Capital Post reported.

There is also a comparatively minor feature in the game which would bring happiness to a lot of Stanley Kubrick fans.

According to Game Informers, "No Man's Sky" is said to kick off with a "wildly abstract" intro sequence that's been inspired by the ending of "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Agostino Simonetta, the boss of the ID@Xbox program in Europe, gave hope that the PS4-exclusive "No Man's Sky" could also be coming to Xbox.

"Unless a title can never come to Xbox, because a developer has signed a publishing deal with someone else, any title can come to ID@Xbox," Simonetta said.

"We always get this question. The answer is pretty straightforward. We do understand that developers sometimes need to decide which platform to tackle first," he explained.

Rumors of a summer 2015 release date continue to spread online but hasn't been confirmed, although, the reliable GameSpot lists on its website the same August launch window for "No Man's Sky."
