New York Giants trade rumors: Giants support kicker Josh Brown, signs Randy Bullock in his absence

With the new season just around the corner, the New York Giants have signed kicker Randy Bullock to a one-year deal.

As reported by the NFL, Bullock is set to play as the Giants try to find someone to fill in the void left by primary kicker Josh Brown.

Brown is currently serving a one-game suspension from a domestic violence issue he had back in 2015.

The Giants had Tom Obarski as a possible kicker for the team, but when he missed his only field-goal attempt against the Buffalo Bills, the Giants stepped in to find someone with experience.

It was Obarski's one and only chance as he was waived following that missed opportunity. The Giants would not settle for the best kicker in the team when they knew they had a chance of looking for someone elsewhere.

Former New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Garrett Hartley was one of the choices for the team, but they ultimately picked Bullock to do the job.

Regarding the issue with Brown, the team was quick to respond and show their support of their teammate, with many expressing that they are not going to judge his actions while others say that they still need him in the team.

Offensive lineman Justin Pugh said: "Obviously, it's a sad situation he's been going through, and obviously, you have to be there for your team teammate ... It's definitely something that is tough. I don't want to get too into it because I don't know all the details either. So that is something that -- I know Josh has spoken with everybody and settled that -- but all we can do is support our teammate and make sure we're there for him. It's definitely a tough thing to go through."

Brown has been with the team since the 2013 season. As a Giant, he has been excellent as he has converted more than 90 percent of his attempts with the team.
