'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 episode 12 spoilers: Team investigates hackers targeting prominent New Orleans figures
The team takes on a group of notorious hackers on the upcoming episode of "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3.
Titled "Return of the King," the spinoff procedural's next episode will see the team tackle a cybercrime-related case. According to the official synopsis, Agent Pride (Scott Bakula) and the rest of his team track down a group of hackers notorious for exposing corruption by releasing scandalous and private footages online.
Thousands of classified government files are stolen, leading the NCIS team to search for an underground organization of hackers co-founded by Pride's old contact, Elvis Bertrand (guest star Tom Arnold). Meanwhile, Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) takes part in the investigation as a newly minted NCIS Special Agent. Steven Weber returns in the episode as Mayor Douglas Hamilton.
Over the course of the season, Sebastian has proven that he is able to go from the lab to being part of the action in the field. Now that he is a special agent, executive producer Brad Kern teased that fans should expect to see two sides of the character.
"There's special agent and forensic agent," Kern told TV Guide back in December, adding, "which means he'll be working in the lab but taking those skills to the field." The EP explained that Sebastian is a character that somehow allows viewers to imagine themselves as an NCIS agent, so he gives some lightheartedness to the story. "It'll be a lot fun," Kern went on to say.
Last week's episode saw NCIS probe on a murder committed in a deep sea oil rig. While combing the scene for evidence, they discovered a bigger problem: a gas leak. They all raced to stop the major disaster from happening while trying to find every piece of evidence they need before the area gets contaminated. Along the way, they also learned that the gas leak had something to do with the case they were working on.
The third season of "NCIS: New Orleans" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. The show is currently on a one-week break and will return on Feb. 7.
