NCIS New Orleans Release Date, Cast Spoilers: Gibbs and DiNozzo to Appear
Fans of NCIS will not have to wait any longer—CBS has officially announced the airing of the show on September 23, 2014.
NCIS: New Orleans will be introducing new characters but fans should expect several appearances of characters from the original cast of NCIS, including Gibbs and DiNozzo. Gibbs is reportedly to appear in one episode while Dinozzo will be in some episodes.
NCIS: New Orleans will be spin-off of the much-loved NCIS series. Much like the original, it will entail a local investigative office of criminal cases in New Orleans. The team will be lead by agent Dwayne Pride (played by Scott Bakula).
Other main characters will include Special Agent Christopher LaSalle (played by Lucas Black), Special Agent Meredith Brody (played by Zoe McLellan), Dr. Loretta Wade (played by C.C.H. Pounder) and Sebastian Voll (played by Rob Kerkovich).
During the show's Television Critics Association summer press tour panel, Executive producer Gary Glasby said, "We have a storyline where Michael Weatherly is involved, where Pauley Perrette is involved, David McCallum. That's the fun of what we have here is having that interaction".
As for the differences and similarities between the New Orleans version and the original series, Glasberg added, "The one thing that will really vary is that Washington handles bigger, large-scope international instances, but that's not to say that they don't encounter stories like that down there as well, and then have to call on Washington for input... [But] their jurisdiction literally goes from Pensacola all the way around the Gulf to Texas. So it's not just specific to New Orleans, it spreads out all over."
